A new management company says it is seeking to improve the former Waters of Yorktown nursing home, which was rated below average by Medicare and is facing a lawsuit accusing it of not seeking prompt medical care for an injured resident.
Now doing business as Yorktown Manor, the 100-bed facility's had been managed by Chicago-based Infinity Healthcare Management, which administers 16 "Waters" nursing homes in Indiana.
The Waters of Yorktown was sued last week by Cheryl Craig, whose mother, Adeline Griffey, had been admitted to the nursing home on July 7, 2010, after surgery for a fractured left hip.
IMG new owner Mark Ide gave the The Star Press this statement: “As the new operators we are seeking to upgrade the facility and the operations to improve our overall customer satisfaction and rating.”
